OMCA: The Art of Burning Man

Various campaigns and experiences for the Oakland-based museum

Oakland Museum of California

This small museum asked us to create awareness of—and drive people to—their exhibition featuring art from Burning Man. Especially meaningful for the Oakland-based museum since Burning Man originated in the Bay Area.

We developed a campaign and visual identity for the 2019-2020 exhibition, “No Spectators: The Art of Burning Man.

INTERACTIVE SOCIAL

We thought it appropriate that a campaign titled “No Spectators” have interactive elements. Participation is a core value of the Burning Man festival, after all. So we invited users on social media to tag their friends and send them a compliment. Then the compliments would be broadcast to Salesforce’s giant video wall, sharing the love—and the spirit of Burning Man—with people walking by on the street.
